The men who first tried to fly faced many difficulties, and one of the greatest difficulties was how to find a suitable engine. Steam engines were the first to be tired in aero planes, but they were too heavy to be of any real use. It is said to have risen for a moment off the ground. Another rose, but fell and was damaged.

When the petrol engine was invested, real success was obtained because it was very light for the power it developed.

Orville Wright, and his brother Wilbur, two Americans, had made a lot of experiments and taken great trouble to study the art of flying in gliders before they tried to fly their planes. A glider is like an aero plane without an engine.

On December 17, 1903, Orville Wright flew safely in a heavier-than air machine for twelve seconds. Orville came down safely after the first shot flight, and on the same day the experiment was repeated three times. The longest of these flights covered a distance of 852 feet and lasted fifty-nine seconds.

Other people followed the Wright brothers in their foot steps. Louis Bleriot, a Frenchman, flew across the English Channel from Calais to Dover in 1909. In 1919, Sir John Alcock and in the same year, an aero plane flew from England to Australia. The age of travel had arrived.

The plant growth in a particular region is called its vegetation. The vegetation of an area depends on its climate. The forests in his temperate region are different. They do not have the thick undergrowth that is found in the tropical jungles, these forests, therefore. Are more open than the jungle.

The deserts are the driest areas; they have very little vegetation, if ever. The regions farthest north and south of the equator are regions with ice, snow and frost all the year round. Here, too, there is little or no vegetation.

Man's most important interest in vegetation arises from his need for food. Different kinds of crops are grown in different climates. Man grows kinds of crops are grown in different kinds of crops. The life of a househusband is not an easy one. I know, because now I am a househusband myself. A househusband has to change the way he thinks about time.

Before I was a house husband, I was a reporter for the New York Times. Time was always very important, so we had to finish our articles quickly and give them to the editor. Everyone was always in a hurry. This is the way many other men work, too. Businessmen, lawyers, bankers, doctors, they all have to work quickly.

At home, it is very different. The househusband cannot be in a hurry all the time. If you rush around, you will make everyone unhappy. You will be unhappy because they are all unhappy. So, you have to learn to slow down. That is the first and most important rule for a househusband.

Still, the househusband has to learn to show how he feels about things. At work you usually do not talk about feelings if you do, people think you are strange. But children need to know how you feel, and how much you love them. Your wife also wants to know about your feelings. If you do not say anything, your family gets the wrong idea. Then, there may be serious problems.
